I love Halloween, always have. I love the preperation and helping my kids come up with fun and new ideas. This year Olivia took the lead and she told me in September that she wanted to be a sugar skull. I had my homework cut out for me. I thought the end result was fabulous, it helps that Olivia is gorgeous! Shawn wanted to be a zombie (like every other little boy) I had to take it a step further and go all out. I added oatmeal and tissue to give it that open wound look. Needless to say when Shawn went to school that day, there were some little girls that would not look at him all day long.......Success! I recently had a friend ask me what kind of makeup I use. I had to stop and think, because I can not name off everything that I use. Someone had told her (not sure who) that you need to wear makeup from the same company...ie, Mac, Bobby Brown, Urban Decay, ect.....I just shook my head and wondered who would tell her that. Well I am here to tell you that you DO NOT need to buy the same brand, in fact try all brands. I use a variety of makeup, pricey, and grocery store You will never know what a certain makeup can do for you unless you try it. For example I took some pictures of my makeup counter when I was getting ready. You will notice all different kinds of makeup. So for those out there that are under the same impression, please branch out and try to mix and match your makeup. I dare you!
I love everything about hair. Most of my life I have had short hair (picture above is of my daughter at a Halloween performance) I think short hair is fun and sassy. There are so many pros and cons to short and long hair. I put extensions in my hair and you can see the difference in the pictures above. I went to really short to really long. Here is my pros and cons on extensions. Extension pros: Instant long hair Many ways to style long hair You can throw it up in a ponytail You can wear a hat without looking like a boy You just feel more like a girl with long hair You don't have to wash your hair everyday (sometimes I can go without washing for 5 days) Once it is styled you really don't need to do anything until you wash it again. I can pile it on top of my head and forget about it. Extension cons: Huge learning curve Washing your hair is a pain and you need TIME to wash and style it, up to two hours You need to know how to hide your real hair underneath the extensions. Cant stand when ladies have extensions and you can see their real hair. It is a pain to swim. You need to treat your hair like it is a baby. Brush your hair and it is EVERYWHERE. All in all I love my extensions. Like I said I love to do hair so the time comment is not an issue to me. I have had lots of different extensions. Clip in, single strand, and weaf. The weaf is my favorite so far. So if you want to extend your hair make sure you do all your research so you will go into very educated. You don't want to pay all that money and then be disappointed. Make sure you hairstylist know how to put in extensions. Ask her how many time she has done it, or if she can send you somewhere that knows what they are doing. One last thing, make sure you are getting REAL hair. One time I had extensions in at a very upscale salon and I thought I was getting real hair, but the bought senthetic hair. Needless to say when I went to style it, it all melted together and it was a huge mess. Many tears were shed over that. This new lipstick...........I love it! I wanted to try something new, to get me away from the same old lip stuff I use. I had heard about this product but never really paid any attention to the brand. I went to Sephora the other day with my cute daughter who is 11. While she was trying on every bright lipstick she could find ( I should have taken a picture of her), I saw this Bite brand. They had beautiful colors. I got the lip crayon in meritage. They had lipsticks and lots of other choices for you.
I put it on in the store and loved the way it made my lips feel. So moist. It stayed on all night until I took my makeup off. I can't wait to wear it today and see just how long it lasts. Have you ever heard of the oil cleaning method? Man, why had I not heard of this before! Apparently, if you mix certain oils together and massage it on your skin,(for 10-15 minutes) you will be able to feel and see the dirt coming form your pours. I don't know if I want to see that, but I am all for experimenting! Down below I found some ways to make a blend of this "Amazing" stuff. In all of my reading, just make sure your castor oil is less then any other oil. I read that you can use extra virgin olive oil. I clean my face EVEY night. In all of my years wearing makeup, I have never gone to bed with any makeup on my face. It will be interesting to see just how clean or dirty my face really is. I am going to this tonight and see what happens. ( I am going to try in on my husband first, yes he does love me so much!) I will let you know how it goes. If you want to read the whole article please go to this web site. theoilcleaningmethod.com Some suggestions in creating your blend of deep cleansing oil: Oily Skin: Try a blend of 30% Castor Oil to 70% Sunflower Seed Oil. Balanced Skin: Try a blend of 20% Castor Oil to 80% Sunflower Seed Oil. Dry Skin: Try a blend of 10% Castor Oil to 90% Sunflower Seed Oil. Makeovers are my favorite thing to do. I love that I get to be with women and teach them how to reuse and update their makeup. What I have found is most of these women have a ton of makeup, but do not know how to use it. So today I would like to go over a few "rules" that will help each of you when you want to start a makeover for your eyes. If you are using grocery store makeup here a few things to keep in mind. Looking for a matte eyeshadow? You will never find it at the grocery store. All grocery store make up have a shimmer or glitter to it, they may have one or two matte shadows in a palate to lure you to buy it. If you don't care about the shimmer, you should. Grocery store shimmer eyeshadow will sit on top of your eye and that will cause your shadow to crease. If you spend a bit more money and get some really high quality eyeshadow, like Two Faced, Naked 1, Naked 2 by Urban Decay,( just to name a few. These eyeshadows are creamy and will "melt" into your eye and the shimmer shadow will blend well with other eyeshadows and it will not let your eyes look like a disco ball! If you are going to spend money, spend it on good eyeshadow, you will not be sorry. Does vitamin E really work like they say it does? I have heard from many people that it is good to put the gel like fluid on your face ( you have to poke a hole in the pill). So I did some searching for myself. I bought a bottle at Costco for about $10.00. I came home and promptly went to put some on my face. When I poked a hole it was a think goo that came out and when I put it on my face it was sticky and hard to spread around. So I went to the internet to see just how to do this, and this it what I found. It is not really good to put the goo on your face, but to put it in areas that you might be having problems with like: acne scaring eczema fine lines Also, it is far better to ingest the pill that it is to put on your face. My husband and daughter have spots of eczema, so we are doing a "study" to see it it helps. For that we did poke a hole in the pill and each morning and night they put a little on. I also found helpful tip to put this "goo" on your face without it being sticky. You will need 7-8 pills poke a hole and put the "goo" in a small container along with one to two tablespoons of olive oil. Mix well and each night put a little on your wrinkles or fine lines. Can't hurt right? I am going to keep on putting vitamin E on my fine lines each night, but I am also going to ingest the pill each night too. I will keep you posted on the patches of eczema. Oh and by the way, while I was searching, I did find out that, back in the day what most ladies put on their on your face was Vaseline. Maybe I will try that next. |
